About Us
Three years ago, we looked to restore an old Leeds institution back to its former glory. We were overwhelmed by the support the local community gave us and it showed as after just one year of being open we started to receive awards. We were awarded ‘Best Suburban Restaurant Award’ in 2008 by the Leeds Restaurant aAssociation and we were also the winners of the ‘Best Modern English 2010′ at the Leeds Restaurant Awards. We really are proud of our Yorkshire heritage and we pride ourselves on sourcing local produce where at all possible. Our kitchen team creates contemporary British dishes with a continental flare.
The exterior of the building had undergone little further embellishment; however the transformation of the interior has been quite substantial. Our welcoming lounge area features modern leather sofas and poser tables, making for a comfortable and stylish place to enjoy a pre-dinner dink or post-dinner coffee. If you can drag yourself away from your cosy spot, you will enter an equally inviting dining area which has a contemporary feel whilst retaining homely warmth.
Our Head chef, Wayne Brimicombe, has worked for both Gary Rhodes and Jean-Christophe Novelli and has developed his skills over a career spanning 20 years. His passion for food is inspirational, and the mixture of his enthusiasm and experience is a winning combination that yields many exciting dishes. We welcome all diners who are looking to sample exciting modern English food in a warm atmosphere. Whether you’re visiting for a romantic meal for two, or you’re part of a large party looking to celebrate.
